I didn’t plan to put up an easy model for the week of Thanksgiving, but I’m glad it worked out like that. I had a very busy and enjoyable weekend visiting family, but still found time to paint these adorable little guys. A few other people did too – you should look below, and check them out.
Last Friday was a momentous day for Sci-fi fans everywhere, as the day of the doctor came and went. This special episode marked the 799th episode, and the 50th anniversary of this epic series. By contrast, there were only 178 episodes of Star Trek the next generation.
I didn’t watch it when it aired, though the according to reports most everyone else did. I waited till Monday, and saw it in 3D in the theater. It was a wonderful experience.
Finally we turn our sights on the ubiquitous bard, specifically Astrid, who seems to be rocking a +5 mandolin of rockin’. Peak below the fold to see just how awesome that instrument can be in the hands of a great painter (of which we have several this week.)
As of this post there’s about 30 hours on the clock and really no hope of turning this project around. With less than $33,000 of a $350,000 goal, I’m frankly amazed they didn’t pull the project off of our favorite crowd funding site like they did their last one. Where did this project go so very wrong, and what does its failure bode for the future of crowd funding (if anything?)

A while back, I expressed my love for Drew Hayes’ seminal dark fantasy comic, Poison Elves. Recently, Ape Entertainment has relaunched the title under their new(ish) adult imprint, Outlaw. Now three bimonthly issues in, how does it shape up against the original? Peek below the fold to find out.
This week, as if it was somehow timed to coincide with the release of Thor (it wasn’t,) we bring you some beautiful cloud giant’s. Perhaps if we honor them well enough, then they will intercede to prevent weather delays for my upcoming Thanksgiving plans.
I promised to make periodic returns to ABC’s Agents of SHIELD a few weeks back, and the time has come to see how things have shaped up since we last checked in with Coulsen and the other passengers on the (short) bus. Peek below the fold for some thoughts on recent developments.
