This Page Intentionally Left Blank

Do to the overwhelming feedback from last weekend’s post. We will now only be posting on this blog Monday through Friday. This will, of course, give me a chance to relax and enjoy life; I might even stop to smell a rose or two.

Who am I kidding – I’ll almost certainly devote the time I would have spent writing to other constructive tasks (after I finish X-Com of course.) I hope all of you have a great weekend though.

I’ve already got some great ideas for topics I want to talk about next week, but if anyone has any suggestions – I’d love to hear them!

  1. I know you try not to get too down on KS projects, but I’d really like to know your opinion of this mess: “Alter: End of Atlantis” (http://kck.st/TSWxR8). Personally, I think it’s problematic right down to the douchey creator pic, and I want a chance to go off on it in full. 🙂

    • I will review the project, and try to find something …deserving to say about it Monday. I did find time Thursday to point out a couple projects I consider especially bad.

Let’s face it though, if I called out every bad project on Kickstarter, we’d discuss nothing else. The list of great products is so much shorter.

      • I’ve noticed that as well. It seemed like when I first started backing things, I had to pick and choose amongst a seemingly endless array of great projects. Now, I still see good ones coming up, and I AM backing a number of them, but the good ones are fewer and farther between.

Do you think that’s a cyclical thing? Like maybe not as many projects get launched in the Nov/Dec timeframe because of the holidays? Or are the good ideas just drying up some?

      • I think that its both. The longer you look at something – the more you see it’s flaws, AND the smart money is keeping its powder dry till the post Christmas hang over.

Long timelines don’t go well with this time of year.
